Day 1
In our parenting books we read from cover to cover while resting in Denver, we learned that when the twins are nine months old, to tackle another major project. We decided to remodel the house. OK, not really, but that sounds better than we decided on our own to do this. A few months back we agreed that once the boys stopped spitting up we would replace the carpet. This project kept growing and we eventually decided to take out the wall between the kitchen and livingroom, lay laminate flooring in the kitchen, livingroom and down the hall, remove the popcorn ceiling and get new carpet for the bedrooms. We contacted a contractor to get an estimate. We made the decision to go ahead with the project last week. On Friday the contractor, Ron, left us a message to call him on Monday to work out the details. We figured we would start some time next month. Well . . .Ron said to Curt on Monday morning, "if you are ready we can start on Tuesday." Monday was my day off. I had planned to hang out with the boys and just be lazy most of the day. They woke up about 7 am, had a bottle and then went back to sleep in bed with me. Curt awoke me to tell me the news. From there we rushed around all day to get all of the furniture moved to the garage and the essentials moved downstairs.
